"This place is awesome. The seat is close to the basketball court, I can see very clearly," said Mr Zhang said when he saw a basketball match during the 16th Asian Games in the Guangzhou International Sports Arena.
The Arena, located in the Luogang District of Guangzhou, is a standard comprehensive gymnasium for NBA games and large-scale performances. Its total construction area is 120 thousands square meters, containing 18,000 spectators.
The LED system is also capable of capturing intense, unique moments to be played-back on the big screen, real-time broadcasts and background imagery. The "funnel screen" above the middle of the basketball court gives audiences a strong sense of dimensionality and most importantly, highly visibility. The funnel-shaped screen device can move to the best position for spectators and enables those who sit in corner seats to enjoy an exciting basketball game.
"Guangzhou International Sports Arena is the best gymnasium I've been in. It's bigger then the Paradise Sports Olympic Stadium where the Turin 2006 Winter Olympics was held," said Anthony Dixon, a Photo Editor from AFP (Hong Kong branch).
"The lights, colors and layout are all designed by masters, the facilities are new and convenient," said Dixon.
