A China Southern Airlines plane caught fire during loading Monday in Guangdong Province, but there were no casualties.
It has been the second scary incident for the airline in less than 24 hours.
The plane's cargo hold caught fire at 8 am after passengers boarded and while luggage was being loaded at Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong, officials of the airline and the irport said.
No one was hurt, an official said.
Fight CZ3533 was headed for Qingdao in Shandong Province. Initial findings showed that combustibles in the cargo hold caused the fire, police said.
