Guangzhou police check all the motor vehicles entering Guangzhou city from October 25 until December 26. In order to avoid the potential traffic congestion, based on actual road capacity, this necessary traffic control will be implemented temporarily and traffic diversion measures will be taken.
It is reported that Guangzhou police have set up security checkpoints on the major roads connected to other cities to check the entering vehicles. It is strictly prohibited that vehicles and personnel carry or hide guns and ammunition, controlled knives, explosive, toxic, corrosive, radioactive and other hazardous articles. The security checkpoints will reserve quick channels for vehicles holding the Special Permit issued by the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee or Guangzhou Asian Paralympic Games Organising Committee and other "green channel" vehicles.
For other vehicles, strict inspection on identity card, driving license, and/or driving permit will be undertaken and security checks on personnel and goods on the vehicle implemented.
