Boarder police seized six foreigners who tried to enter Hong Kong illegally from Shenzhen early yesterday.
They were the first foreigners caught trying to enter Hong Kong illegally this year.
Two soldiers and an officer of the Six Detachment of Guangdong Border Control Division heard a noise in the undergrowth when they were patrolling the border near the mouth of the Dashahe River in the Shenzhen Bay area in Nanshan District.
Officer Liang and the soldiers hid behind a bush and 10 minutes later saw eight people push a boat into Shenzhen Bay.
The six foreigners were from Nepal and Pakistan and two others, Chinese nationals, were snake heads, border police said yesterday.
The foreigners entered the mainland after Nov. 28 and were to be taken to Hong Kong.
Investigations are continuing.
