Conferences on Chinese Government Scholarships for Postgraduates Held in ECUST

A conference of experts committee and a press conference on Chinese Government Scholarships for Postgraduates for Constructing High-Level Universities were held on November 3rd and November 5th respectively in the office building and Yi Fu building. The conferences were jointly organized by Graduate School and International Cooperation and Exchange Office.
On behalf of East China University of Science and Technology, President Qian Xuhong signed an agreement with the China Scholarship Council of Chinese Education Ministry on October 12th, which enlisted ECUST as one of the 60 universities supported by the program of Chinese Government Scholarships for Postgraduates. The CSC (China Scholarship Council) plans to send 6000 graduates overseas for further studies in 2010, among which 5000 students are to be sponsored by Chinese Government Scholarship for Constructing High-Level Universities and 1000 sponsored by Chinese Government Scholarship for Special Program. For ECUST students, 50 graduates are to be recommended on this program with 25 for Doctoral Degree and the other 25 for Joint Doctoral Degree.
