On October 10th, vice-president Dong Qi met with Ms. Rennate Juergens-Pieper, Teaching and Research Department Minster of Bremen, Germany and a group of delegation, accompanied by Prof. Treusch, president of Jacobs University Bremen, Prof. Drechsler, vice-president of University Bremen, Prof. Busse, chief of Bremen Fraunhofer Institute and others.
Dong Qi welcomed minister Juergens-Pieper and the delegation to visit Tongji and introduced the history, current situation and the international exchange programmes of Tongji University, especially the origin and status quo of communication and cooperation to Germany. Dong Qi said, Tongji and the universities in Bremen had established a good basis for cooperation and exchange, retained long-term close relationship with the Ocean and Germanic Departments of University Bremen, and hoped the two sides would clash more sparks in the future.
President assistant Prof. Wu Zhiqiang, Prof. Feng Xiao and Prof. Ma Jun joined in the meeting and introduced the Expo projects, Sino-German engineers and vocational teachers training programmes, electric car project, and discussed about the possibility of future cooperation with German.
