From September 13 to 20, Prof. Janet Weitzner Salaff from University of Toronto had a one-week academic visit to our Department of Sociology in School of Political Science & International Relations.
Prof. Janet Weitzner Salaff is an internationally renowned expert in immigration research. His visit was mainly for the preparation of the project named Urban Theory and Urban Development Strategy in China . During the visit, Prof. Salaff had detailed discussion with our teachers of Department of Sociology about research planning and implement programs, and visited some overseas returned scholars association such as SORSA to prepare for his research Factors in Return migration: Shanghai which was expected to be launched next spring.
Later, Prof. Salaff gave a wonderful presentation entitled Qualitative Methods to our students.
