At the call of Fudan EMBA Program office, Doctor ZHOU Weimin (in Chinese pinyin) from the University of California at Berkeley delivered a speech to the EMBA students on August 29 evening in the school.

n his speech titled Operations, Execution and Business Culture, Doctor ZHOU has shared with the school students on his academic progress and research experience, analyzing the relationship between business operations and the executing skills of corporate management team. And he also touched upon the importance of business culture.

It was part of the Fudan Advanced Management Forum events which are tailor-made for EMBA students in the school.

He said that the success in operations management is attributed to such factors as a clearly defined goal, a reasonably sound plan, and a high execution efficiency.

Execution skills refer to the abilities in implementing the plans and policies, as well as the problem-shooting abilities during that process.

Nevertheless, it is commonly seen that the execution skills have been put aside when it comes to operations management in businesses.
