Research Seminar of direct-fired biomass power generation, co-sponsored by North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) and National Bio Energy Co., Ltd. (NBE), was held on the morning of September, 10th. Yang Yongping, Vice President of NCEPU, Li Mingkui, Executive Vice President of NBE, Wang Chunli, Xu Maotong, and Vice Presidents of NBE attended the seminar. Besides there were Zhou Tianyong, general manager of Production Technology Dept. of NBE, Song Hongwei, senior project manager of Production Technology Dept. of NBE, Zhang Yanru, project manager of Science & Technology Dept. of NBE, Lin Shengrong, Vice President of Dragon Power Co., Ltd, Song Zhengjun, senior engineer of Jinan Boiler Group Co., Ltd, Tan Qinliang, key project management office director of NCEPU and deputy director Zhu Zhengmao, Wu Zhansong, national engineering laboratory chief of Biomass Generation complete plant, and deputy heads Dong Changqing and Shi Fei, and Prof. Li Wenyan. Office director Tan Qinliang chaired the meeting and teachers and students in that laboratory sit in on the seminar.
Vice President Wang Chunli of NBE introduced the practical experience and facing problems of biomass direct-fire generation in NBE in the recent five years and suggested to do research in seven key aspects, such as setting up industry standard and optimum design of biomass boiler in the near future. Then, deputy director Dong Changqing reported the planning targeted research subject in the national engineering laboratory. Executive Vice President Li Mingkui introduced the development plan of NBE in the near future and he expected that the installed capacity would account for 40% of the national level. Many problems would arise in the production process. And he hoped that the laboratory would cooperate with NBE and define the major research to solve the crucial technological problems in the process of biomass direct-fired generation and set up effective working mechanism. The attendees carried out heated discussion.
In the end, Vice President Yang Yongping of NCEPU made a conclusion. He pointed out that national engineering laboratory showed the characteristics of uniqueness and exclusiveness which should lead the industry in technology and provide service for biomass generation. For this reason, major research should be defined soon as possible. When regarding to the major research, the existing technology, developing technology and prospective technology should be taken into consideration. He hoped that the engineering laboratory would work with NBE to define the major research soon and carry out research work in the full swing and achieve the goal.
