Guest Lecturer: Professor Lin Boqiang
About the Guest Lecturer:

Lin Boqiang, an energy economist, is the current director of the China Center for Energy Economics Research at Xiamen University, a Yangtze River Scholar , specially employed Professor, and a Ph.D. supervisor. He is also a member of the National Energy Advisory Committee. In 1990, Professor Lin was awarded a doctorate in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), in the U.S., and in 1993 he joined the Asian Development Bank as chief energy economist.
Professor Lin has published many high-quality research reports in authoritative academic journals both at home and abroad. To date, he has published 14 theses in Economics Research, two on Social Science in China, and ten on Energy Economics and Energy Policy. In addition to his accomplishments in the fields of theoretical and practical energy economics, Professor Lin has written nearly a hundred essays for general audiences on natural resources and the environment. These have appeared in the mainstream media, journals, and magazines, including Southern Weekly, 21st Century Economics Report, and First Financial Daily. He has also served as a consultant for many international organizations and domestic ministerial committees, large energy companies, global investment banks, and foundations. Since 2007, Professor Lin has taken on more than 29 major projects for the National Social Science Fund and the National Natural Science Foundation, and for various province- and ministry-level agencies.
