Tsinghua University Makes Administrative Committee Changes

Tsinghua University formally announced recently several changes to its Administrative Committee and University Council. Tsinghua President Gu Binglin, University Council Chairman Chen Xi, and other senior administrators were present on December 20th at the meeting where the announcements were made.

Authorized by the State Council, Professor Gu Binglin continues as University President.

By the decision of the Ministry of Education, Professor Chen Jining is appointed Tsinghua s Deputy President. Other vice presidents include Professors Kang Kejun, Wang Jinsong, Zhang Fengchang, Xie Weihe, Chen Xu, and Yuan Si.

Retiring from their vice president posts are professors He Jiankun and Cen Zhangzhi. Professor Shi Zongkai is appointed Tsinghua University Council s Vice Chairman.

Tsinghua President Gu noted that Tsinghua has made new progress in developing its academic disciplines, teaching and research and continues steadily to stride toward making Tsinghua a world-class university.

University Council Chairman Chen Xi said that through the efforts and contributions made by all the staff and teachers, Tsinghua in recent years has achieved great results in its work. He encouraged all to continue to work hard to build Tsinghua into a world-class university and to contribute to our society.
