Tsinghua Holds Welcome Ceremony for Freshmen Students

Tsinghua University President Gu Binglin and university leaders hosted a Welcome Ceremony on August 27 for the more than 3,300 freshmen who officially registered on August 26.
In his address to the freshmen, President Gu welcomed them and congratulated them for earning a place at Tsinghua. In his remarks, he expressed several hopes for their future. He encouraged them to lay a good foundation in their studies and to develop their individual creativity. He urged them to learn their professional knowledge well and develop themselves in an all around way. Finally, he advised them to develop a global view and to contribute to the development of the nation.
