(Reporter: Li Changyun) The seventh round for Group B of 2009-2010 National Women s Volleyball League was concluded today. Guangdong Evergrande Volleyball defeated Shandong at 3:0 at home, ranking first in the table with full victory, with the score of 25:20, 25:20 and 25:12. After six rounds, Evergrande and Shandong ranked first and second in the league table, who were considered as the hottest teams for Series A. While the contest between them was thought to be exciting and competitive, it turned out to be a one-sided match. Despite the effortless victory, Lang Ping, the coach of Evergrande, described in a modest way, Shandong is an actually strong team, for which we have carefully prepared with skills in block, defense, first pass and service. And we have seen progress in our block and defense today. Shandong is characteristic of its middle net quick attack for which we should learn from them to enhance cooperation in the middle net. In addition, they did well in blocking high shots. Tomorrow is the 31-year birthday of Feng Kun, the team leader of Evergrande Volleyball. While she disclosed it and gave her congratulations, Lang said emotionally that when she coached American National Team for Beijing Olympics last year, the oldest was 36, so compared with foreign players, Feng was much younger. She expected that Feng would not retire too early and continue to show her excellent skills in the court, and further more, the Chinese woman volleyball players could have a longer time of sportsmanship and help their young colleagues grow. As it draws to the end of 2009, the reporter asked Lang to reflect on the experiences of the year, upon which she described with quietness . I had a quiet life in 2009. What s most impressive is that we established Evergrande Volleyball Team within the shortest period of time and included so many good players. As for me, what s significant is that I can coach a team of a Chinese volleyball club, which enriches my life as a coach. I ve made a lot of friends and learned a lot from Europe to Asia and America. I m greatly honored to have so many opportunities in my life as a coach. |
