The competitions in the ninth round of Group B of National Women s Volleyball League 2009-2010 season have been completed by January 3. Guangzhou Evergrande Women's Volleyball team led by Lang Ping swept Fujian in three straight sets, maintaining its top position after eight consecutive victories and the only one with full victory in the group. It adds to the confidence that this team led by Lang is sure to rush into the League A sooner or later.
Evergrande Women s Volleyball Team has been the focus of media since the time from its birth to announcement of Lang s coachship. The Volleyball League Department has handled nearly 100 documents in this season. Before it, few people came for the Series B League. Moreover, CCTV has repeatedly broadcasted live the matches of Evergrande instead of its traditional League A in the volleyball broadcasting, with a quite good rating.
In addition to the media blitz, the box-office also confirmed the good market. In Guangzhou where Evergrande is the host team, it is hard to get a ticket, especially its competition with Fujian was of great concern and the ticket was even pushed up to 800 yuan. What s more surprising, the fans were more concerned about Evergrande s results in the League when the national team Tsai s Army were battling hard in East Asian Games.
While this may certainly be related with Tsais poor performance, it well illustrates that the view at Evergrande is uniquely beautiful .
