Guangdong Evergrande Women's Volleyball Team (EWVT) had a 10-game winning streak, and successfully promoted as a Division-A team. There will be something worth watching in the Division-A league matches in the next competition season.
The 10th round of Division B matches of 2009-2010 Anta National Women's Volleyball League Matches ended last night. Guangdong EWVT coached by Lang Ping won the away game with the Guangdong Taishan Jianlong Women s Volleyball Team led by Hu Jin at 3:1, thus realizing the goal of being promoted as a Division-A team with the good performance of a 10-game winning streak accumulating 30 points and only four lost sets. Although there are still two rounds of the Division-B League Matches, the hurricane that will be aroused by EWVT headed by Lang Ping in the next competition season has become the focus of people s concern.
The degree of media s concern ranks top in the league matches
In the three months since the beginning of the Division-B matches of the National Women s Volleyball League Matches in last November, EWVT coached by Lang Ping has stolen the limelight in the national volleyball matches. There have been numerous reports on Lang Ping and the Division-B league matches in which EWVT has participated.
In addition, unprecedentedly, CCTV has rebroadcast all the home games of EWVT. The fact that a domestic volleyball team can arouse so much concern and exposure to the media ranked top in the volleyball league matches. All these attribute to Lang Ping, who returned to the country after so many years to coach EWVT.
Some domestic clubs criticized EWVT for its hire of excellent players from other teams during its establishment. However, it is undeniable that the occurrence of Lang Ping and Evergrande caused a sensation of the national volleyball league match market which had been silent for many years. Along with the realization of the goal of EWVT to become a Division-A team, this sensation will certainly be transferred to the Division-A league matches in the next competition season.
It is highly possible for Feng Kun and Zhou Suhong to stay in the team
The successful promotion of EWVT to be a Division-A team directly attribute to the fact that Lang Ping introduced some old stars who will retire soon such as Feng Kun, Yang Hao, Zhou Suhong, and Yin Yin. But it is still not clear whether these players will stay in the team after the end of the competition season.
It is reported that it is highly possible that Feng Kun and Zhou Suhong among these players will stay to play for EWVT, while the possibility of Yin Yin and Yang Hao s stay is not high. From the aspects such as the physical fitness, it is no longer suitable for Yin Yin who is 36 years old this year to continue participating in matches. The physical fitness of Yang Hao, who is 30 years old, is also declining. Although Lang Ping holds the opinion that Yang Hao can go on playing, Yang Hao has had the intention to retire for the reason of the family.
As for Zhou Suhong and Feng Kun, Lang Ping said that they could go on playing for several years according to their fitness at present. Lang Ping said: "The victory of the team depends on the joint efforts of everybody. I personally think that it is really a pity if they retire now".
In addition, it is possible for Yin Meng who is now a player of the national team to stay in EWVT. Two foreign players from the USA show preference to stay in EWVT. Unless EWVT does not renew the contract with them, they have the chance to appear in the Division-A matches in next year.
Lang Ping has had the psychological preparation for the reorganization of the team for the new competition season. She said, It will be more difficult to reorganize the team this year. I hope that the players wouldn t relax too much and could maintain their conditions in the vacation. Then it will be easier for them when the team is reorganized in the second half year.
No matter how the team will be reorganized, there is something certain that a new hurricane will be aroused in the Division-A league matches of the next competition season.
