Minister of Science & Technology and provincial leaders visited the company
December 3, the Vice Chairman of the CPPCC national committee and Minister of Science & Technology Mr. Wan Gang, Secretary of Shandong Provincial CPC Committee Mr. Jiang Yikang, and Secretary of Publicity Department Of Shandong Provincial CPC Committee Mr. Sun Shougang and their companions visited the company. Board Chairman Zhang Xiuwen and Vice General Manager Yu Zewu accompanied the guests to the Assembly Plant of Bulldozer Division and the Experiment Center of the Research Institute.
Mr. Wang Gang pointed out that for the enterprise development, Shantui should center on improving the capability of independent innovation and make efforts to speed up the cultivating and developing of strategic emerging industries. And there is a need to build a demonstration base for fostering innovative talent, to update the management system and build good development environment, so that Shantui can be established as an innovative enterprise and industrial group with competitive advantages in the world.
Mr. Jiang Yikang hoped that Shantui would bear more responsibility and make more contributions to speed up the pace of establishing Shandong as a powerful province in terms of economy and culture and making new highland of regional development with the support of scientific innovation and with the lead of strategic emerging industries and hi-tech industries.
During the visit, Mr. Zhang Xiuwen made a brief report on the achievements Shantui has made in terms of independent innovation and production. He said that Shantui had developed over 60 new products during the 11th five-year plan period, including the 100hp full hydraulic bulldozer and SD52-5 crawler bulldozer, which filled the gap in domestic industry and reached the internationally-advanced level. At present, Shantui has got national approval and set up the hybrid bulldozer project which starts the internationalization process of research and development and the recruitment of talent.
