CRIBC and Tianjin Government Co-work to Promote Circular Economy

MCC Group Central Research Institute of Building & Construction (CRIBC), China Jingye Engineering Construction Contraction Corp. (CJYC) and the People s Government of Dongli District, Tianjin, held the signing ceremony of Strategic Partnership Agreement at Tianjin Yingbin Hotel on July 31. MCC Limited president Shen Heting, vice presidents Huang Dan, Zhang Zhaoxiang and Wang Xiufeng, and Mayor of Tianjin Huang Xingguo participated in the ceremony. CRIBC president, secretary of Party committee, CJYC chairman and general manager Li Peixun, deputy secretary of Party committee Li Fuqi, deputy general manager of CJYC Qian Lei, secretary of Dongli District Party Committee Zhang Youhui and district head Shang Delai signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. Both parties had decided to establish a strategic partnership in energy efficiency and emission reduction and in developing circular economy, in a bid to promote sustainable development.
Thanks to its geographic significance in Tianjin, Dongli District has seen fast economic development, with great demand for energy efficiency and emission reduction. The district government has also attached great importance to development of a circular economy, making policies and taking measures in support of projects relating to energy efficiency and emission reduction and circular economy within the district. And it has shown great trust in and recognition of CRIBC s strengths in environmental protection.
After the conclusion of the strategic partnership agreement, the Dongli District Government would actively support CRIBC and CJYC carrying out research projects within the district in energy efficiency and emission reduction and circular economy, and provide a good platform and policy support for technological innovation and the translation of scientific and technological achievements; CRIBC and CJYC would, with their strengths in expertise and finance and as a national-level engineering and technology center, actively carry out scientific research and development on energy efficiency and emission reduction, and strive to construct a industrial base of national-level engineering and technology centers as well as an incubator of technologies for energy efficiency and emission reduction, contributing to the district s effort to become a national model of energy efficiency and emission reduction and circular economy.
The strategic partnership agreement between both parties covered: technological and equipment R&D relating to energy efficiency and emission reduction and circular economy, engineering design and EPC projects, and establishment of the National Environmental Protection Center for Steel Pollution Prevention and Control (Tianjin); construction and operation of sewage treatment and recycling projects, achieving total treatment and recycling of domestic and industrial sewage within the district; disposal by CRIBC of all steel slag within the district by means of investment and operation, making metallurgical enterprises within the district become an important building material production base in Tianjin while realizing zero discharge of slag; CRIBC s cooperation with metallurgical enterprises within the district in terms of environmental protection and comprehensive resource utilization relating to the steel industry, gradually promoting the reform of industrial enterprises within the district in operation and management of environmental protection facilities.
Shen Heting said at the signing ceremony that MCC Limited had a long and fruitful cooperation history with Tianjin and would assist CRIBC in implementing the agreement contents overall and bring more projects to Tianjin while accelerating construction of cooperation projects.
Huang Xingguo said MCC Group as one of the world s top 500 had kept long, close cooperation with Tianjin, commenting that the signing of the agreement between both parties was a strategic win-win choice. He wished that both parties could speed up project construction through close cooperation, and vowed that the municipal government would provide high-quality, efficient services, creating a good environment for project implementation.
