Baosteel Participates in the 9th International Metallurgical Industry Expo

Organized by China Iron and Steel Association and Metallurgical Council of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (MC-CCPIT), the 9th International Metallurgical Industry Expo (Metallurgy + Metal China 2004) had its opening ceremony in Shanghai New International Expo Center on June 8.

Wu Xichun, Chairman of China Iron and Steel Association, Wu Jianchang, Executive Vice Chairman of China Iron and Steel Association, Xie Qihua, chairwoman and president of Shanghai Baosteel Group Corporation and Xu Lejiang, vice president of Shanghai Baosteel Group Corporation attended the ceremony. M+M, attracted 910 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions including China, Germany, Italy, USA and Japan.

Baosteel booth stand, occupying an exhibition space of 300 sqm, exhibited outer body panel of Shanghai VW's Passat model made of Baosteel automobile steel, automobile components made of Baosteel's anti-vibration steel, gear, connection rod, tyre rod made of special steel bar and transmission shaft, exhaust tube made of steel tube, showed Baosteel's comprehensive capacity in automobile steel making.

Baosteel's pipeline steel, shipbuilding steel and oil-country tubular goods, household appliance steel, stainless steel, special steel and some up to the date technologies are also introduced during the fair. Experts were invited to give fifteen technical speeches on the spot during the expo. Accompanied by Xie Qihua, Wu Xichun and Wu Jianchang paid a visit to Baosteel booth stand.
