SOHO China ranks No. 9 on FORTUNE China s first annual list of "Most Admired Chinese Companies." The list and related stories appeared in the magazine s October (first half) 2006 issue. Among the 25 companies on the list, SOHO China is one of only two real estate companies. Haier Group tops the list.
In 1983, FORTUNE magazine started the "Most Admired Companies" list in the United States. FORTUNE China published its inaugural "Most Admired Chinese Companies" list in 2006.
The survey for the list started on August 12, 2005 and ran over the course of one year. There were 418 candidate companies, with over 1,000 senior managers from various Chinese companies acting as judges. The criteria includes investment value, creativity, management, and social responsibility.
