Lotus Festival open in Beihai park

The 14^th Lotus Festival has opened in Beihai park. During the festival, the activity of floating on water, admiring lotuses, which was recorded in history as an ancient activity of the royal family, starts again. Tourists can feel the ancient royal atmosphere and closely admire the beautiful lotus flowers.

The theme of this year s festival is chu shui fu rong, which is a beautiful Chinese expression, meaning lotus flowers just emerging from water. The 8000-square-meter lake in Beihai park is covered with various kinds of lotus flowers.

During the festival Fangshan restaurant in Beihai park has brought forth a lotus banquet. And the photographic competition of Pinnuo Cup is about to open, which will last till Oct. 31^st.
