Duanwu cultural festival

On Jun.12^th, which was the fifth Cultural Relics Day of China, the opening ceremony of the first session of Duanwu cultural festival was held in temple of ancient monarchs. The festival lasted from Jun.12^th to Jun. 16^th. During the period, more than 10 projects of non-material cultural relics in Xicheng district were put on display. On the ceremony, new enlisted projects of non-material cultural relics in Xicheng district were announced.

The main theme of the ceremony was cultural relics around us. Under the Jingde Gate of temple of ancient monarchs, nine craftsmen were performing their skills of non-material cultural relics, such like drawing Biyanhu, making bristle figures, flour sculptures, shadow play and paper cutting.

In Xicheng district, there are 22 projects enlisted in the district-level non-material cultural relics, and 8 projects enlisted in the city-level non-material cultural relics. The cultural relics in Xicheng include dinning culture, ancient court culture and folk culture. The specific introduction of the non-material cultural relics in Xicheng will be carried out on the website in succession in the coming days.
