On January 14, 2011, Professor John Joseph Carroll, a senior technical director of Canada Oil and Gas Engineering Company, accepted the employment certificate of visiting professor from Professor Du Zhimin, the President of Southwest Petroleum University (SWPU).
As the visiting professor of SWPU Professor John Joseph Carroll will be expected to instruct the graduate students and help the teachers to apply for high-level scientific research projects, to write and publish high-level academic papers, to bring in cooperation projects for SWPU, to contact overseas experts to carry out academic exchanges and also to recommend teachers of SWPU to study abroad.
Professor John Joseph Carroll is an expert in the field of underground storage of carbon dioxide and acid gas re-injection technology, a member of SPE Association, International Natural Gas Development Technology Association and American Chemistry Research Association, a registered engineer of Canadian provinces (BC, AB and NB), a technical adviser in the field of the underground storage of carbon dioxide and acid gas re-injection technology of U.S ExxonMobil, Shell, Husky, Petro Canada, Encana, BP Canada, UK, Middle East and China oil companies.
