On the morning of 4th of March, 2010, headed by the Governor, Vladimir Artyakov, A delegation of Russian Sate of Samara visited ShenzhenUniversity. This visit was resulted from the signing of Friendly-City relations between Shenzhen and Samara city. Shenzhen CPPCC Executive Vice Chair Madam Jiang Zhong, SZU President Zhang Bigong and Vice President Ruan Shuangchen met with the Russian guests at Rm.201, President Office and had a friendly talk about the educational collaborations between ShenzhenUniversity and SamaraStateUniversity.
Governor Artyakov expressed his appreciation for the warm reception from SZU. He also talked about the long-standing friendship between the two nations, and that the establishment of friendship between Samara and Shenzhen since Dec., 2008 had laid a solid foundation for further cooperation such as education. He extended his full support for the academic exchange and collaborations between SZU and SamaraStateUniversity.
The Rector of SamaraStateUniversity, Prof. Noskov Igor Aleksandrovich said at the meeting that STU was a high profile university in Russia, though it only had 40 years history, which shared something in common with the young ShenzhenUniversity, that the two universities both had great potentials for growth. He conveyed his interests of collaboration with SZU regarding the following three aspects: firstly, STU could open Russian language program at SZU; secondly, the two institutions could foster special research projects based on resources of both sides, and thirdly, the two universities could launch student exchange program based on reciprocity.
Regarding the collaborative proposals, President Zhang expressed his welcoming attitude and agreement. He believed the two institutions would surely have a pleasant collaborative experience with the support from the governments of the countries
Madam Jiang Zhong, the Executive Vice Chair of Shenzhen CPPCC concluded that it was a exciting start for the leaders of the two universities to discuss education in the spring time. She believed there would be fruitful collaborative results for the two universities in the near future.
After the meeting, guests and hosts held a signing ceremony for the official collaboration between STU and SZU.
