Following the good school program started by CNU s Capital Institute of Basic Education Development and Research, CNU and Shunyi District jointly launched the Double-Good project, namely training of good teachers and building of good schools, on May 14 morning. Under the program, an expert group formed by university researchers, middle school top teachers and schoolmasters, district-level principal teachers has carried out ground research about school management and teaching improvement at the Yangzhen II Middle School, Shunyi III Middle School and Shunyi V Middle School.
The whole program include two major aspects: first part is study of school development through interview and questionnaires with cadres, teachers and students to have a picture of general school education and to pave the way for finding right universities and regional education development institutions as partners.
The second part is joint research on class education. Outstanding teachers who participated in the special training programs are key resources in the program and they will play a leading role in regional education. Meanwhile a special learning platform will be established onsite to enhance dialogue between experts and teachers to realize win-win cooperation.
In this program, Zhang Jingbin, the executive vice dean of Capital Institute of Basic Education Development and Research, took the lead, while Prof. Wang Shangzhi and other 10 middle school teachers, including Beijing s most outstanding teacher Bai Suyun, participated in the themed research.
The program provides a new model in cooperation between normal universities and teachers as well as a new cooperation way between CNU and local education partners. The program has tried to make breakthrough in classroom teaching and has improved skills of key teachers in the process of innovation and creation.
