On June 1, a 12-member delegation, led by Mr. Dirk-Jan van den Berg, chancellor of Delft University of Techonology (TU Delft) and Mr. Ton van Zeeland, consul-general of the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Guangzhou, visited South China University of Technology (SCUT). President LI Yuanyuan and vice-president ZHU Min met the guests at Conference Room 3.
President LI Yuanyuan extended his warm welcome and gave a general introduction of SCUT to the visiting delegation. He hoped that the two universities could have various kinds of student exchange program and conduct joint-training of postgraduate & doctoral students in key disciplines so as to promote friendly exchanges and mutual development of the two universities, even of the two countries.
Mr. Dirk-Jan van den Berg appreciated the reception of president Li and vice-president Zhu. He also gave a general introduction to TU Delft, and said that he was very willing to have further communication and corporation with SCUT on issues like academic research and student joint-training program in key disciplines of both universities.
After the meeting, the delegation paid a visit to Architectural Design Research Institute and Building Environment Energy Laboratory.
