During Sept. 19 to Sept. 23, a 6-member delegation led by vice-president QIU Xueqing visited University of Rome and University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), and signed cooperative agreements with these two universities respectively.
On Sept. 20, the SCUT delegation visited University of Rome and had a symposium with its representatives. The two sides exchanged opinions about substantial cooperation between two schools in the future. During the visit to SUPSI on Sept. 23, the SCUT delegation had a meeting with Prof. Franco Gervasoni, President of SUPSI, and representatives from various fields. Two sides also signed a cooperative agreement.
It is learned that SCUT have been cooperating with University of Rome in the field of architecture, especially in the protection of historical and cultural heritages, city planning and co-organizing training course of city planning. Cooperation is carried out by means of visiting scholars exchange and joint researches. As to SUPSI, it accepted SCUT students to participate in the Precision Manufacturing Engineering Project. So far, two SCUT graduates have been accepted for postgraduate study in SUPSI.
