Recently, the 8th China Environmental Art Design Prize of the year 2010, the top prize for Chinese college students majoring in environmental art design, finally closed. The competition has lasted for 4 months. After two rounds of evaluation, the School of Design of South China University of Technology (SCUT) was granted a Silver Prize and a Recognition Prize.

The 2010 contest was much more successful than those of the previous years in terms of the quality of competing designs, participating colleges as well as individuals. The committee spoke highly of the achievements of School of Design of SCUT, given that it has newly been established. And SCUT, for the first time, was enrolled in list of the 10 organizing units.

The Annual China Environmental Art Design Prize, sponsored by the committee of China Environmental Art Design, is the largest and the most influential competition and communication activity in the field of college space design. 4 prizes were set up, namely Gold prize, Silver prize, Bronze prize, and Recognition Prize, covering the field of city space design, architectural space design, architecture space design, public construction interior design and residential architecture interior design.

The contest promoted academic exchanges and communication of teaching practice between national and overseas higher education institutions, arouse the enthusiasm of students in creation and enhanced teaching ability of schools of design in our nation.
