On the evening of September 23rd, Mr. Burdett A. Loomis, Professor of Kansas University of the United States, accompanied by Mr. Edward Dunn, Vice Consul for Public Affairs of Guangzhou, visited Jinan University and conducted a presentation to students and teachers of the Department of International Relations on 2008 Presidential Election .
As an expert of American politics and public policies, Mr. Loomis delivered an excellent as well as objective lecture concerned with the comparison of the presidential elections from 2000 to 2008, analyzation of the three most popular candidates advantages and disadvantages, and a prediction of the influence on the American political situation after the result comes out.
A heated discussion followed the lecture which mainly focused on topics of the essence of American presidential election, new changes in 2008 s election, candidates background, and possible impact on America s foreign policy towards China.
