Delegation of World Chinese Language Association visiting Jinan University

On the afternoon of September 2, the delegation of World Chinese Language Association (WCLA) headed by Prof. Cheng Wanli, President of WCLA and Chung Yuan Christian University paid a visit to Jinan University. President Hu Jun and Vice President Jia Yimin greeted the guests. Prof. Chen Weiming, Dean of College of Liberal Arts, Prof. Zeng Yiping, Deputy Dean of College of Chinese Language and Culture, Ms.Yu Huifen, Director of Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs were present at the meeting.

President Hu Jun gave the delegates a brief introduction about Jinan University including history, academic features and the latest development. Vice President Jia Yimin s talk focused on the situation of Chinese language education at Jinan University. Furthermore, the two sides discussed on issues related to current division of the discipline of Chinese language, integration of resources of different campus and compilation of Chinese language textbooks.

After the meeting, President Hu Jun, on behalf of Jinan University and President Cheng Wanli, on behalf of Chung Yuan Christian University, signed a formal academic cooperation agreement. The two universities will find more opportunities in promoting mutual exchanges between teachers and students and co-hosting academic activities.

Accompanied by Vice President Jia Yimin, the delegation visited the university library and the history exhibition.
