David Joseph Maria Weenink invited to be the visiting professor of JNU
Mr. Joseph Maria Weenink was employed as the visiting professor of our university on March 23rd. Mr. Jiang Shuzhuo, vice president of our university conferred a letter of employment to Mr. Weenink.
Mr. Jiang extended sincere welcome and heartfelt thanks to Mr. Weenink on behalf of the whole university, and he said that Mr. Weenink s coming would turn a new page to the linguistics studies of Jinan University, and it was a milestone event and signified another new beginning to the academic exchange between the University of Amsterdam and Jinan University.
Mr. Weenink graduated in 1971 from the Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen. As one of the designers of the most popular PRAAT software, he currently holds a post in the Institute of Phonetic Sciences of the University of Amsterdam.
From March 24th on, Mr. Weenink will give lectures titled Doing Phonetics By Computer for the consecutive 3 weeks.
