Donation to assist Leukemia Student Get Through
Mei Lin, a senior undergraduate student from the Department of History at Sun Yat-sen University, was diagnosed with acute leukemia(M4a) and lung infection. The disease and the high medical expenses dealt a heavy blow to her and her economically disadvantaged family. To lighten the burden of the family, academic staff and students of the Department of History have initiated and raised a total of 76,111.7 Yuan so far for her. And in the coming days, related administration units and student unions will jointly organized University-wide fund-raising activities to help Mei Lin carry through the difficulty. At the news of Mei Lin s suffering, the Student Affairs Office, the Education Development Fund, and the First Affiliated Hospital extended their sincere concern and strong support to her.
Touched by the care and support , and with her swollen hand (due to the incessant injection of corrosive medicine), Mei Lin wrote down a letter of thanks Thank You for Giving me a Second Life indicating that with the help and support from teachers and classmates, she would cooperate with the medical treatment to bravely overcome the illness in order to repay the care and support she received .
