USTC teams took high position in the 3rd Peak Time (China) Competition on March 12, 2011.
The Competition was held at Capital University of Economics and Business during March 11 to 12. Team Breaking Utmost, consisting of FU Yongjian, ZHEN Xiaofeng, GAO Huiling and LU Fangyong from School of Management, took the first place in case study, and won the "Best Team Cooperation" prize in the competition of the undergraduate student group.
Two graduate students, WANG Yunfei and WU Huanhuan, members of Team Mountain Peak, insisted the competition even when a member of the team had been ill, and finally won the second prize in the competition of MBA group. The two teams, both supervised by Prof. XU Xiaoyan, received visit invitations to north Europe.
Peak Time is the largest international business student competition in Europe. There were more than 1000 applications and nearly 300 teams from schools across the nation attending the competition in 2011. Only the top 17 teams in the undergraduate student group and 20 teams in the MBA group could be chosen for Peak Time (Global).
The competition requires application of theoretical knowledge and analytical skills to compete in the computer-aided business simulation CESIM and solve real business problems. The CESIM simulation platform was supported by CESIM Corporation www.cesim.com , which is widely used business education in many famous business school, for example, Wharton School, Stern School of Business of New York University and Economics and Management School of Tsinghua University.
