Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Sugar Chemical and Biological Technology will center on some basic science issues such as the existence forms, the structures, functions, biotransformations and purification to conduct researches so as to develop sugar purification techniques and equipment which base on efficient separation technologies like industrial chromatography.

As well, this lab will contribute to the theoretical and technological development of function sugar which has significant values of application in the fields of food science, medicine, chemical engineering, textile and so forth. As the R&D innovative base of sugar chemistry, sugar biology, sugar biological manufacturing and enhancement of sugar functions would made possible by this lab, it is bound to provide supports to the development of sugar qualitative science and sugar biology industry

Nationwide, Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Sugar Chemical and Biological Technology will be the first base for R&D and talents cultivation specializing in the field of sugar chemistry, biotransformation, structural modification and purification.
