A Delegation from University of Rochester Paid a Visit

President Chen Jian, Vice President Xu Yan, Director Zhong Fang from International Office, Deputy Director Fu Jucheng from City Bureau of Education had a meeting with the distinguished guests. President Chen Jian, on behalf of JU, extended a warm welcome to the delegation and made a general introduction of JU from aspects like JU s history, faculty, scale, discipline construction, scientific researches, foreign communication, and its reputation and status.

Vice President Peter Lennie expressed that it was his honor to visit JU for the first time. He briefly introduced the general situation of University of Rochester ranked from teaching and researches to talents-training, among which he highlighted its School of Arts, School of Engineering Technology and Applications, Optical School, medical School and many other top-ranking subjects and majors in the whole America.

Furthermore, the city and school leaders and the delegation had a broad discussion on running schools in cooperative details and approaches under legal frameworks, to further define the position of every part and directions of substantive cooperation for the next round. Prof. Peter Lennie indicated a profound and multi-fields cooperation in aspects like scientific research, faculty exchange and talent-training.

After the meeting, the delegation paid a visit to our Design Museum and State Key Laboratories companioned by relevant home leaders. They were much impressed by the beautiful campus full of water and warmth as well as the high-class education conditions, looking forward to a productive cooperation in the near future. JU will work in close and comprehensive cooperation with the world-class universities to lay a solid foundation in achieving the international strategic objective to be among one of the universities of 12^th Five-Year Plan .
