Dr Lijun Yang, the lector of the School of Mechatronics Engineering, attended the 36th International MATADOR Conference held in Manchester 14th 16th July, 2010. The MATADOR Conference was established in 1959, which makes it one of the longest running conferences in the field of manufacturing. It is a truly international conference, which attracts high quality peer reviewed papers and delegates from countries all over the world. The Proceedings of the MATADOR conferences are published and held in libraries worldwide.
The 36th International MATADOR Conference provided a forum for the presentation and discussion of original contributions to the principles, techniques and applications in the areas of Manufacturing Processes, Technology, Systems Design and Integration, Metrology and Management. Special themes of this conference are Green/Sustainable Manufacturing, Composite Manufacturing, Solar Cell/Fuel Cell Manufacturing, Laser Processing and Micro/Nano Fabrication, with applications in the aerospace, bio-medical, food, energy, automotive, electronics, optics and process industries.
Dr Lijun Yang presented the paper of Analysis of local field enhancement including tip interaction for the application to nano-manipulation using FDTD calculations and Inspection of defects in CFRP-Foam Layered structure composite plates of aerospace materials using lock-in thermography in the conference. And gave introduce on the poster paper of System Design for Laser Assisted Milling of Complex Parts , which the doctor students published in the conference.
Dr Lijun Yang was invited to visit the center of laser research in the University of Manchester by the conference chairman Professor Lin Li, the deputy head of the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering, the University of Manchester. Dr Liju yang invited Professor Lin Li to visit HIT in this year, and the Professor is happy to accept the invitation and will go to HIT in the end of this year.
