Recently, Professor Xu Chongren, vice dean of the Department of Life Science of Peking University, has visited NENU. Professor Xu is deputy director of the Higher Education Steering Committee of Life Science and Engineering of the Ministry of Education, standing director of the Zoological Society of China and deputy team leader of International Biology Olympiad. He was invited to deliver a lecture on undergraduates' scientific research training for teachers and students of NENU during his appraisal of NENU's food biotechnology.
In the lecture, Professor Xu encouraged undergraduates to enhance their capacity in scientific research by working in professor's laboratory, engaging themselves in scientific research projects, launching their own self-organized scientific research clubs, and visiting famous universities abroad for international scientific research exchanges, etc.
