On June 11th, Boris Nikolayevich Mironov, Academician of Russian Academy of Humanities and senior professor of Russian Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg Branch, gave an academic lecture on special topic in NENU at the invitation of Center for History of World Civilizations and Institute of the Middle Ages Studies. In the lecture, he introduced some methods of measuring the living standard in history through Anthropometry. Mironov also discussed with teachers and students on related topics.
The research fields of Academician Mironv are mainly Russian economic and social history. He has already published more than 200 papers and 7 academic Monographs, among which three books Historian and Sociology, Historian and Mathematics, Social History of Russia have been published in Chinese. Academician Mironov is therefore hailed as "Braudel" (one of the most influential historians in the world) by American scholars.
