President Zhang Wendong carried out investigations in colleges and held discussions with responsible

For the last few days, upon his appointment as the president of Taiyuan University of Technology, Zhang Wendong carried out inveistigations in colleges including the College of Machinery, the College of Materials, the College of Electric Power, the college of Mining, the College of Laws and Humanity. He enjoyed warm discussions concerning current difficulties and further development with college leaders, professors as well as lab staff. With the view of improving work efficiency and serviee quality, Presidnet Zhang also took advantage of his spare time to hold discussions with responsible staff of different administrative offices comprising the Financial Department, the Personnel Department, the Department of Postgraduate Programs, the Administrative Office of Assets and Laboratories, the Department of Science and Technology and the Office of Graduate Employment etc.

During the investigations and discussions, President Zhang put forward specific requirements on crucial issues regarding financial approval procedure and scientific research funds etc. He also sought suggestions over teaching payment, performance allowance, the appraisal of professional qualification, security management of residential districts, students part-time program and the construction of campus environment.

The investigations were suspended due to the winter vacation. President Zhang Wendong will continue his investigations in the coming smester.
