Italy: Smart Fabrics attracts a record attendance

The 5th annual Smart Fabrics conference attended by over 100 delegates and over 30 speakers shined amid the economic recession.
The Smart Fabrics 2009 conference which took place on 10 – 12 March 2009 at the Holiday Inn Rome West, Italy, attracted a record attendance and proved to be THE most notable event of the year.
More than 150 industry players from 24 countries met to discuss the latest advances in technology and smart fabrics markets.
Conference key facts:
- 118 delegates
- 38 presentations divided into 3 parallel afternoon streams and plenary sessions
- Attendees including Louis Vuitton, Adidas, Phillips, O'Neill, Defence R&D Canada
The programme was divided to focus on business as well as high-tech developments in the field, including presentations from Puma, Textronics, Lumalive Philips, Peratech, European Commission, Eeonyx, CeNTI and many others.
The event’s high-profile speaker line-up and attendance has created a stir amongst the Italian fashion media. Italian national channel RAI TV visited Smart Fabrics 2009 to shoot a document for their programme about fashion.

The 2010 edition of this hugely successful event will move to the US. The 6th annual Smart Fabrics is set for April 2010 in Miami.
