French Fashion University Esmod (FFUE) Dubai, the internationally acclaimed French fashion institution, has successfully introduced 23 of its students to the latest global fashion trends and the activities of the fashion capital of the world during an extensive 10-day tour of Paris and Lyon, France.
Tamara Hostal, Founder and Director of FFUE Dubai, encouraged the activity to show students how essential it is for fashion professionals to be constantly updated on global fashion industry developments. She explained how trends can change every six months, depending on seasonal fads and innovations introduced by industry practitioners.
“Our students need to have a broader view of the industry they belong to. Their recent trip has shown them how dynamic their future profession is and how critical it is for them to both keep up with the latest fashion developments and follow the highest industry standards. Their visit to iconic fashion firms and historic places has also given them more pride in the heritage of their craft, which adds to their motivation and inspiration,” said Hostal.
Esmod students visited the private house of Louis Vuitton, where the designer created his first luxury case. They also participated in a Hermes workshop, where they were shown different kinds of crocodile skins and the quality, technical requirements and pricing of products made from the material.
They also toured top fashion museums in Paris such as the Frank Sorbier exhibition and Yves Saint Laurent Foundation, among others. From the public areas to the fashion houses and the general ambiance, the French trip has given students a passionate attitude, inspiration, and more dedication to fashion. Esmod intends to organize more of such trips for both its current and future students.
