Vineet Bahl loves to dress women in pretty feminine clothes and for Spring/Summer 2009 at the Lakme Fashion Week, his collection had the cute title “Candy Perfume Girl” a line that had all the fun and flavour of cool styling.
Fluid sheer fabrics like chiffon, silk, cotton gauze and wispy georgette were embroidered and printed in a range of colours. Here were a mélange of hues that were just right for prints that were very diverse – ikats and Moroccan folk embellishment with stripes, polkas, geometrics and floral patterns.
Textured delicately the kurta dresses with black beadwork, the tunics with hem detailing, the drape kurtas over a silk satin shift and the swing dress with border edging were delightful creations. The three finale water-washed brocade georgette dresses with the glittering gold detailing and flowing silhouettes completed the look that Vineet had created.
