Classic Sportswear is very pleased to announce its appointment by the ARL Development as its excusive apparel partner and sponsor.
ARL Development is a non-profit company formed by the ARL (Australian Rugby League) and NRL (National Rugby League) to develop the grassroots of the sport from introductory level up to the age of 18 years.
ARL Development works within the pre-existing development framework established by Clubs and State Leagues to augment existing programs and establish new development initiatives. A variety of active programs includes an in school program that introduces school children aged 9-10 to the game of Rugby League; Kids to Kangaroos which focuses on boys and girls aged 5 to 12 years; an Active After School program; School holiday clinics and the Telstra League of Legends competition for boys and girls 11-13 years.
The dozens of National Development Officers are spread Australia wide and their main charter is to increase the participation of boys & girls playing some form of Rugby League.
Tony Magnus of Classic Sportswear says that it is always been important philosophy of the Company to continue putting something back into the game and to channel an involvement with such an active and professional organization as ARL Development is heartening. To be able to assist in getting our youth into an ongoing healthy and active lifestyle is a responsibility that he takes seriously.
Magnus says that whilst the focus for Classic Sportswear is to work from the grass roots of our game right through to our elite representative teams, the opportunities offered by ARL Development to be actively involved with its program that extend to almost ten thousand schools across Australia, shows that a good partnership can always be very much a win-win situation.
In recent weeks Classic Sportswear has announced the appointments as the Rugby League World Cup’s apparel and headwear partner and most recently as the NRL’s official supplier of supporter and mascot apparel (from the 2009 season).
Classic Sportswear is also the apparel partner for both the Australian Kangaroos and the Australian Schoolboys Rugby League. Magnus says that the ability to assist with the development of the game of Rugby League and with the important focus on a sporting routine for our youth, is of importance to his company’s culture.
The sponsorship from Classic Sportswear focuses on the supply of apparel to the large team of Development Offices and executive within the ARL Development, as well as to the team of dedicated part-time and casual staff.
Paul Walker from ARL Development said at the recent National Development Conference” We are delighted to have the sponsorship support of a great company like Classic. Our field staff and administration staff are looking forward to a long term partnership with Classic, and we are extremely thankful to Classic Sportswear for providing the apparel for the first ever National Development Conference in this Centenary year.”
Magnus says that the team at Classic continues to grow in skills and numbers to meet the ongoing opportunities as the business starts its 75th year. The company recently restructured and re-invented itself to meet new opportunities within Australasian sport.
Classic’s Art Director has recently attended the New York Fashion Fair and followed this by a trip with the Sales Director to Trade shows in the USA, to ensure that the new ranges will be at the leading edge in the world of sport fashion.
