Cotton Incorporated presents the Inside - Out Sports Classic featuring a half-marathon and 10K race. The North Carolina Roadrunners event is now in its 10th year and is one of the Triangle’s premier distance runs. In fact, the 2008 Classic has been designated by the Road Runners Clubs of America as a state championship race.
This year’s racers will receive added benefits provided by Cotton Incorporated and SubLock Active Cotton. Each race participant will receive a t-shirt treated with the WICKING WINDOWS moisture management finish that truly transfers moisture away from the body.
“Cotton Incorporated is thrilled to be hosting the Sports Classic in our own front yard,” states David Earley, Associate Director, Strategic Initiatives, Cotton Incorporated.
“As a company, we want to show local residents the advancements we have made in performance technologies for cotton.
This year all the participants will share the benefits of wearing a shirt made of natural fiber with the WICKING WINDOWS technology that pulls moisture away from the body, allowing runners to stay drier and more comfortable throughout the race.”
In addition to good health and well-being, participants will have the added motivation of running for a cause. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit The Tammy Lynn Center for Development Disabilities, a non-profit agency offering educational, residential and family support services for children and adults with special needs.
The North Carolina Roadrunners Club (NCRC) came to life in 1979 out of a local sporting goods shop in Raleigh, NC and has grown to over 700 members strong. Most live in the Triangle area and Eastern North Carolina but some even in other states and still call NCRC "their club"
Cotton Incorporated, funded by U.S. growers of upland cotton and importers of cotton and cotton textile products, is the research and marketing company representing upland cotton. The Program is designed and operated to improve the demand for and profitability of cotton.
