Have you heard? Keeping Kids Warm has given away nearly 90,000 winter coats across the nation since its inception in 1995 by Charming Shoppes Inc.
Charming Shoppes' family of stores includes Lane Bryant, Fashion Bug, Catherines Plus Sizes, and Petite Sophisticate.
So if YOU know a school that can benefit from a visit from Keeping Kids Warm, take action and send an e-mail to KeepingKidsWarm and tell us why these students need winter coats!
Keeping Kids Warm is the brainchild of Dorrit J. Bern, chairman, CEO and president of Charming Shoppes.
The program donates brand new fashionable winter coats along with hats, scarves, gloves and school supplies to underprivileged elementary school children around the country.
"We just finished a very successful year, giving away 20,000 free coats, and we look forward to giving warmth to more and more children this fall," said Bern.
"We've learned that school attendance is largely affected by the availability of winter coats, and we are pleased to contribute to the cause for a better learning environment."
This is the thirteenth year Charming Shoppes has conducted the Keeping Kids Warm program as an ongoing effort to give something back to local communities.
This fall, Keeping Kids Warm will be visiting over 30 schools and giving away an additional 20,000 coats.
