A proposed amendment to Atlanta's indecency laws could see youngsters pulling their pants up, literally.
Accordingly, baggy pants that show thongs or boxers would be termed illegal under the same city code that bans sex and exposing or fondling genitals in public. Those flouting this law could be penalized.
The proposed ordinance will also forbid women from wearing jogging bras in public or purposely displaying a bra strap. The fine amount is yet to be decided.
Should the amendment see the light of day, it would not be the first instance. Earlier this year, town council of Delcambre, La. passed an ordinance whereby a person exposing his or her underwear in public will have to cough up a fine of $500 or spend six months in jail.
Municipalities and parish governments in Louisiana have enacted similar laws in recent months.
