The 10th annual Sewing Extravaganza, organized at the Washington State Community College recently, attracted many sewing aficionados to pick up new tricks of the trade.
The event offered technical know-how about the latest techniques and tools available in the sewing world. The classes offered information in a variety of subjects from iris folding and small projects for scrap fabrics to organizing sewing area and beginning crocheting and knitting. A total of 21 different topics were covered in the classes.
The Extravaganza also featured a fabric fair for sewers who could buy fabric at reduced prices. The fabric fair sold fabrics collected from people who emptied out their closets and brought material, sewing patterns and other sewing goods to the show.
The event, which drew around 100 to 200 people from adjoining local communities, provided veterans in the field of sewing a chance to interact with younger talents.
