Vietnam : Binh Duong textile & apparel sector flourishes

Binh Duong textile and apparel industry in the first seven months of 2007 witnessed sky-rocketing growth.
In this period, the number of textile units rose from 39 to 97 and garment plants went up from 541 to 728. These currently employ over 58,000 labors.
The province's exports turnover is equivalent to the figures of whole 2006, worth US $472 million.
During the January–July period 2007, the Binh Duong, an industrial location of Vietnam, fetched $2.769 billion exports turnover, soaring 28.9 percent year–on–year.
Top three products were wood furniture, textile – apparel and footwear, accounting for 52 percent of total turnover.
