a|wear is the proud winner of a prestigious All Ireland Marketing Awards (AIMA) 2007. a|wear won the award in the category for Public Relations for the launch of the Peter O’Brien for a|wear collection 2006.
These comprehensive awards are the nation's premier means of recognising business excellence. They were established by The Marketing Institute of Ireland to highlight the achievements of Irish marketing and sales professionals, and reward their major contribution to economic growth and competitiveness of our island.
They also serve to promote excellence and best practice in all the marketing disciplines, especially highlighting the central relationship between good marketing and profit performance.
With 28 stores in Ireland, innovation has played an integral part in a|wear’s brand development. In 1984 Irish female shoppers were introduced to a relatively unknown designer, John Rocha and a career was born.
a|wear became a stomping ground for both established & start up Irish designers. Names that showcased at a|wear include Michael Mortell, Richard Lewis, Cuan Hanley, Mark O’Neil and Quin & Donnelly. The last 10 years were spent concentrating on the growth of a|wear’s own brand range.
Irish designer Peter O’Brien famed globally for his amazing couture and as head of design with legendary Paris fashion house Rochas, was commissioned by a|wear to design a capsule collection for autumn/winter 2006.
