Industry lobbies are campaigning to strike free trade agreement (FTA) with India, which will prove to be one of the largest agreements ever.
The US India Business Council is already working to create a roadmap for this deal. It has invited several elite consultants to help research, draft and lastly execute a balanced way to proceed with this deal.
Council has also called for experts and professionals to support this FTA.
For past several years both countries are aggressively trying to improve relations so that they are mutually beneficial.
This latest support from Industry lobbies for US-India FTA is definitely good news for the Asian developing nation.
This stresses the fact that US industries have finally become aware of India’s potential and are keen to boost bilateral trade. Currently, two-way trade between the US and India is mere $32 billion.
However, administrators recognize that FTA will take months or even years to materialize. Even after implementation, persistent efforts will be required from both countries to raise the trade figures.
