Tesco Lotus plans to capture the low income market by launching Khumkha brand school uniforms, around Baht4.5-billion business.
The prices of these uniforms are about 20-30 percent lower than other brands. All shirts of kindergarten, primary school and secondary school are available within a range of 100 Baht.
Uniforms, though a seasonal product, have bright prospect with demand increasing by about 5 to 10 percent per year.
The company has organised a marketing campaign ‘Roll Back to School’ which offers around 1,000 products in a variety of school uniform and equipment lines.
Tesco Lotus plans to spend heavily on promotion and will appoint about 7,000 new employees to achieve its target.
